Most Americans support government-run health plan

We're taking advantage of the end of school to do some traveling to Philadelphia and Washington to scout out colleges for our son. And speaking of the nation's capital, it was good to see that a robust majority of Americans support a government-run health insurance plan to compete with private insurers, according to the latest poll by The New York Times and CBS. Most Americans also think government could do a better job of holding health-care costs than the private sector. Are you listening, Congress?

I will resume blogging next week.

Without Govt Health Care, your book Side Effects would not have been necessary.

Stacking up the Trillion of public Funds needed Must result in that Trillion commanding the respect & allegiance of its Bureaucrat Stewards.

No One - no matter How above board their original motive may have been - can micro manage that corrupting enticement without eventually getting down on their knees to pay obeisance to the Industry Billions tunneling through that Trillion.

We've been chasing Single Payer Health Care for decades and the more money gets thrown at it, the more Couterproductive, Political Patronage Infrastructure springs up to vacuum that money up.

Sen Grassley had to remind NIH Director Elias Zerhouni that he was Courting 5 years for obstructing a Congressional inquiry into What NIH was doing with $28 Billion. And Zerhouni was anything But the Pork Hill Mob's Lone Ranger.

Look at the disastrous Effects even a Drug Branded freebie tote bag or ballpoint pen have led us too in the hands of Doctors. Multiply that effect, by a Trillion.

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents."

James Madison

With a Trillion at stake, and that figure Will grow, there can no more be an Incorruptible Bureaucrat than there can be a 'safe patient' population for any of Pharma's junk, Psych Drugs.

Let's see how supportive the public is over single-payer and its variations as they learn more about it. Obama is packaging his program as if it will cure all that ails our health care system. It's no stretch to imagine this quickly leading to government rationing and, in fact, making medical decisions, depsite the vociferous denials of the Obama administration. Clearly, there are no easy solutions here, but we should think carefully before we pull the trigger. Many postings on this at www.MDWhistleblower.blogspot.com which is devoted to issues of medical quality.
